The Santa Ynez Valley is known for its wine industry, which dates back to the 1800s when the first vineyards were planted in the area. Today, it is home to many award-winning wineries, and wine tasting is a popular activity in Solvang. It was home to the Chumash people for thousands of years before the arrival of Danish settlers. The Chumash were skilled hunters, fishermen, and artisans, and their influence can still be seen in the area's art and culture.

We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the trip start, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) in Goleta, CA which is about eight miles (12 kilometers) from downtown Santa Barbara.
From here, scheduled flights arrive from and depart to most major cities in the U.S. You can also fly into Los Angeles (LAX) but please be aware you will have to rent a car or look into shuttle options to Solvang. From LA, it takes approximately three hours to Solvang with traffic. Options to get to Solvang include local car rental or taxi. Cars can generally be found inexpensively from the Santa Barbara Airport with multiple rental agencies available. Taxis from Santa Barbara's airport (SBA) cost around $120. Options include Shah's Taxi (805-708-1403), Promenade Taxi (805-252-5990), and Santa Barbara Luxury Limo (805-722-7940).
Your Trek Travel staff will meet you at Hotel Corque (400 Alisal Road, Solvang, California 93464) at 11:00 AM on the first day of the trip. Upon meeting your guides, we will ensure you have a great fit to your Trek bike for the week and give you a few pointers before you head off on a warm-up ride.
If you will be late for the meeting time, or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call our first hotel, Hotel Corque (1-800-624-5572), and leave a message with your expected arrival time and contact details. You can catch the Road Runner ride share shuttle from SBA to Solvang for approximately $85 (805-389-8196), or alternatively you can take one of a number of taxis for around $120.

Santa Barbara County enjoys 310 days of sunshine annually. You can expect early spring and fall temperatures to range from 60-75ºF (16º-24ºC) during the day and 45-50ºF (7-10ºC) at night. Rain is rare, but there is always a chance, especially during February. Morning fog from the coast generally causes cooler temperatures until it burns off late morning.

When a trip is booked, a guest confirmation email is immediately sent out. One week prior to the trip start, you’ll receive an email containing your trip start meeting location reminder and any last-minute information that you’ll need to know. You will also receive instructions to download the Ride with GPS app before your trip to provide you the day to day plan and daily route guides.
With one person booked on a date, the trip becomes guaranteed.*
In the case where trips are at one or two guests, we will contact you prior to final payment to give you the following options:
Pay a small trip fee of $500 per person for two guests or $1000 for one guest, which ensures your preferred trip date will run. If there are three or more guests before departure date, the fee will be refunded in full.

Switch to a different trip or different departure date. Should there be any difference in trip price between your original trip and the new one, you will be expected to pay the difference, or we will refund you accordingly.

The small trip supplement for Ride Camps is as follows – for two guests an additional $250 or for one guest an additional $500.

Unforeseen events may make it necessary to cancel or modify a trip. Our Guest Services team will update you with any changes. We reserve the right to cancel departures in cases of force majeure or the failure of third parties—such as hotels—to honor their reservations, in which case all payments received to date will be refunded, which constitutes full settlement.
