Additional Arrival Information
We suggest that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of your Ireland Hiking and Walking tour, which will enable you to adjust to the time zone and minimize the risk of missing the trip start due to flight-related delays. We recommend that you fly into Dublin (DUB). From Dublin, take a direct train to Galway from Dublin Heuston train station, taking approximately two and a half hours for around 16€. Train schedules and booking can be found on Irish Rail. You can also fly into Shannon Airport (SNN) and take a bus to Galway. Please visit www.buseireann.ie for more information.
Your Trek Travel guides will meet you in the lobby of The Hardiman Hotel, Eyre Square, Galway, H91 NFD2, Ireland at 10:40 AM on the first day of your trip. Please come dressed ready to hike. After a transfer of approximately 1h20 by private coach, enjoy lunch in Ballyvaughan as your guides explain how the trip will unfold. Once everyone is ready, you'll be off to Gleninagh to enjoy your first hike in Ireland.
If you will be late for the pick up or are going to miss it altogether, please inform your guides. If you cannot reach them, please call the trip hotel, Fiddle & Bow (+353 65 670 0200) and leave a message with your expected arrival time. A taxi from Galway to the hotel in Doolin will be approximately 150€.
Additional Departure Information
On the last day of your trip, your guides will take you to Tralee train station, arriving at approximately at 10:45 AM. Here, you can take a direct train back to Dublin or to any destination of your choice. Please do not book any transportation before 11:00 AM. Alternatively, your guides can take you to Shannon Airport, arriving at approximately 12:30 PM. Please do not book any flights before 2:00 PM.

Overview
Step into the heart of western Ireland's vibrant spirit! Your guides will meet you in the lively town of Galway at the lobby of The Hardiman Hotel at 10:40 AM. Following introductions, they'll outline the thrilling steps ahead in your adventure. A scenic one-and-a-half-hour journey leads you to the town of Ballyvaughan, your home for the next two nights. Here, we will enjoy lunch together before lacing up our hiking boots for an inaugural hike to Gleninagh. As the Atlantic sun dips below the horizon, the day's end finds us gathering for a cozy social hour and sumptuous dinner at our charming hotel nestled within the magical landscape of The Burren.

Look out for the island's wildlife, including seals and various bird species, such as the cuckoo. After exploring, enjoy some personal time in Kilronan village to grab lunch and visit the local craft shops where you’ll find authentic Aran sweaters. Later, we connect with a local goat farmer, immersing ourselves in discussions on the island's heritage, spotlighting ancient stone forts and the enduring Irish-speaking community. Our return to the mainland is followed by a lively dinner at a Ballyvaughan pub, celebrating our day's adventure.

Today, we visit to the iconic Cliffs of Moher. Take in the sheer beauty of this truly wild Atlantic wonder, feeling the rush of sea air as you spot birdlife nestled below the cliffs. Following this we set our sights on Dingle in County Kerry, a hub of traditional Irish music and dance. We will transfer south, crossing the Shannon Estuary via a 20-minute ferry ride, before arriving in Listowel, Co. Kerry, for a guest-choice lunch. Choose from a variety of traditional pubs or cozy cafés before we continue our journey further south. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a short hike through a hidden woodland on the Dingle Peninsula. After stretching our legs, enjoy a scenic drive to Dingle village. We cap off the day with a delicious dinner at one of Dingle’s renowned seafood restaurants, savoring fresh, locally caught dishes.
